John made it back over to San Francisco with the trim piece and installed it this rainy afternoon. It might be a little too nice.

Matching victorian trim John is working in the shop today setting up his router to replicate Pete’s 100 year old exterior trim. Parts of it is rotten and the painter awaits the replicas so he can finish the job.  I will post soon with pictures of the trim installed.

I saw this house on a visit to Comanche, Texas a couple of years ago. I like the curved roof and the entry porch with the door and window with pointed head trim. I like the proportions of the attic vent. Most of all I like the tasteful paint job. Siding, trim, and windows, and foundation are all painted white and there is one accent of black trim. I am curious about the person who lives in this house in small town central Texas.  Clearly an artist exercising great restraint and minimalism.

Simple and sturdy wainscoting and a modern stepped ceiling detail is timeless in this Berkeley home. The stripe of  picture molding elegantly breaks the painted wall.
